A certified teacher dedicated to providing academic support.
Codie Schommer is a certified teacher for grades k-5.
She grew up in Madison, Ga. and moved to Athens, Ga. to complete an Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Georgia. Go Dawgs!
During her teaching internship she taught in upper elementary and found that she loved the independence that students in 3-5 grades were able to develop. In 2021, Codie finished her degree and started a family but in 2022 decided to go back to the classroom. She started teaching in 5th grade, and after one school year decided to move to teaching 2nd grade, where she could help to build early learning skills and habits to ensure academic success.
Codie has a passion for working with children and helping to guide them in their journey for knowledge. In the future, Codie hopes to obtain additional certifications to better support multilingual learners as well as gifted and talented students. During her free time, Codie enjoys spending time with her two children, husband and cat Maybelle (affectionately named because of her love for cows), Moo! Occasionally, she will take time to read a good book next to a fire or decompress by drawing or painting. When all else seems to fail, cooking a comforting meal can bring her a sense of assurance.

“Ask any child development expert, and they will tell you that children do not develop in a straight line. There are no average children. There are no standard children.” ~ Cassi Clausen
